Review by hotel critic
As a marine biologist and scuba instructor, I often seek out family-friendly accommodations that provide both comfort and a welcoming atmosphere. My family and I recently enjoyed a stay at By the River B&B, and I must say, it truly exceeded our expectations for a getaway. Located just outside downtown Fredericton, we felt safe walking along the river to explore the area. The heritage-style house offered spacious rooms that comfortably hosted my family. After a day of hiking through local trails and fishing, we appreciated the cozy setting to unwind and relive our adventures. Breakfast was a highlight—served promptly, with a system in place for ordering the night before. My kids loved the French toast casserole, and I must admit, the eggs benedict were impressive. Sharing a meal together each morning provided us with a wonderful start to the day. What stood out most was the welcoming demeanor of the owners. They were attentive and engaging, making our stay feel personal. Through their stories about the house's history, we learned about its significance. By the River B&B was a lovely base for our family holiday, and we would certainly consider returning in the future.
